Working at Heights Training

Course Description:

Safety Plus Australia delivers the nationally accredited unit RIIWHS204D Work Safely at Heights course under the Go Workplace Training, RTO Code 22464. On successful completion of this working at heights course, participants will be able to competently:

  • Check all safety equipment
  • Plan their work
  • Use the safety equipment, and move safely at heights
  • Pack up equipment at end of shift
  • Apply a working knowledge of the OH&S and regulatory requirements.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:
  • Can use the English language at a level that enables the safe performance of work at heights. Students must also be able to understand the provided texts; comprehend the working at heights training in a classroom environment and be able to respond to short answer questions in English. A sample of the text and example of short answer questions are available on request.
  • Participants are required to have good general health and fitness, and any pre-existing medical conditions that will affect the training must be disclosed prior to attending.
  • The harnesses used in this course are of a standard size. If a participant may need a smaller or larger sized harness, please discuss this at the time of booking your working at heights course.
  • If you are not an Australian or New Zealand citizen, or Australian permanent resident, you must ensure that your visa permits you to study in Australia.

COURSE CONTENT & DELIVERY METHOD:

Students will be provided with face-to-face training on both the theoretical and practical components of the course.

Assessment comprises of short answer questions, and two practical assessments.

On successful completion of the course, participants will be able to competently:

  • Check all safety equipment
  • Plan their work
  • Use the safety equipment, and move safely at heights
  • Pack up equipment at end of shift

Apply a working knowledge of the OH&S and regulatory requirements.

DELIVERY METHOD:
  • 8 hours (may vary, depending on class size and student experience)
  • Face to face training will be conducted over a period of 8 hours including both theory and practical components.
ASSESSMENT:

Assessment of knowledge will be conducted by use of a workbook and verbal questioning. Participants will also be required to demonstrate competence through a range of practical activities.

COURSE SIZE, COST AND LOCATION:

All working at heights courses are held at the Safety Plus Australia factory in Knoxfield, Victoria. To ensure quality training and a safe learning environment, the maximum allowable group size is 10 participants. The cost is $300.00 + 10% GST per person. This cost includes course materials, lunch and morning tea.

GROUP BOOKINGS HELD AT THE PREMISES OF YOUR CHOICE:
  • Day/course for Melbourne Metro $2,250.00 +10% GST
  • Day/course for all other areas of Victoria $2,675.00 +10% GST

The maximum number of students shall not exceed 12. A training room with a projector is required to be supplied. Please note lunch and morning tea are not included when working at heights training is held at your premises.

WHAT WILL ATTENDEES RECEIVE?

Upon successful completion of this course, participants receive a Statement of Attainment for RIIWHS204D Work safely at heights
