Relevant Australian Standards and State legislation mandate the periodic inspection of all height safety equipment. For the equipment to remain effective and compliant, it should be tested, inspected and tagged within the nominated periods by a recognized competent person.

The inspection /certification periods are –

  • Harnesses, lanyards, ropes – Every 6 months
  • Anchor point & Rail systems – Every 12 months
  • Static line systems – Every 12 months

Safety Plus Australia shall provide a certificate of compliance upon the completion of a rigorous testing and inspection of your system or equipment based on the following Australian Standards for Height Safety.

  • AS/NZS 1891.4 : 2009 -> Fall-arrest systems. Selection, Use and Maintenance of Industrial Fall Arrest Systems and Devices
  • AS/NZS 1891:3 Part 3: Fall Arrest Devices
  • AS/NZS ISO 22846 -> Rope access systems
  • AS/NZS 1657:2018 -> Fixed platforms. Walkways. Stairs. Ladders
  • AS/NZS 1891.2 Part 2: Horizontal Lifeline and Rail Systems
Inspections

Onsite inspections can be carried out on all types of height safety equipment to ensure they comply with the original manufacturer’s installation specifications and to inspect for the following:

  • Inspection of fixings on all ladders and handrail systems
  • Inspection on the stability of all ladders, walkways and handrail systems
  • Inspection for wear and tear on all existing height safety equipment
  • Inspection to ensure system still complies with all relevant Australian Standards, codes and legislations and therefore making your workplace safer place to work
